How does moderation work?

Updated over 6 months ago

Moderation on Connect is designed to protect users, promote respectful interaction, and maintain a clean, curated, and abuse-free digital environment.

We don’t rely on automated censorship or opaque algorithms. Instead, we apply a layered moderation system that combines:

  • Community Rules, clearly written and accessible to all users

  • Manual reports by users who can flag inappropriate content or behaviour

  • Human moderation, conducted by trained, independent moderators

  • Graduated response, meaning each case is reviewed and actions are proportional

Connect is not an open battlefield. It’s a space for dialogue, creativity, and human connection — and our moderation system reflects that.

If you break the rules:

You’ll receive a warning, temporary restriction, or — in repeated or serious cases — permanent suspension. All actions are recorded and can be appealed.

If you feel you’ve been treated unfairly:

You can submit an appeal via the report system or contact support. Every user has the right to defend their position.

Key principles:

  • Clear, public rules

  • Human oversight, not AI-based censorship

  • Appeals process for transparency

  • Zero tolerance for hate speech, harassment, impersonation, or fraud
